WELCOME TO CALKINS-MCBRIDE RACING

CALKINSMCBRIDERACING @ VERIZON.NET

CHRIS CALKINS
Chris Calkins has been involved in drag racing for most of his life. Starting out in chassis shops, he has risen through the ranks and worked for the biggest names in the business. He continues to make chassis, but for the last 3 years, the Orange Crush Pro Street truck has been the team to beat. The two-time current Pro Street Champion was the first Duramax diesel-powered Pro Street in the 9’s and for 2009, Chris looks to become the first in the 8’s also. Chris’ future is crystal clear, to build competitive race vehicles; become a top-ranked engine builder in the diesel community, and winning an NHRA Division 3 championship.

ERIC MCBRIDE
Eric McBride may be better known for starting Diesel Hot Rod Association, but his roots are in drag racing. Eric started racing diesels in 2001, securing numerous wins and an ET Bracket Championship. In 2004, he did marketing & promotions for Scheid Diesel Motorsports, on top of driving the quickest and fastest diesel on the planet. These days, he is continuing to promote the biggest and most well-known event in the diesel industry, promoting a diesel class in NHRA Division 3 and preparing to become one of the top ranked Super Comp teams in the nation.

THE RIDES
Orange Crush- A 1970 Chevrolet C-10 Duramax-powered Pro Street truck. This 2 wheel drive monster became the first Duramax-powered truck in the 9’s and has been crowned a champion two consecutive years. This current champion is getting a transmission transplant to help excel it to being the first Pro Street truck in the 8’s. This truck has also graced the cover of Diesel Power magazine, been featured in Diesel World, and due to its many wins (undefeated in `08), published in countless other magazines.

Unnamed `32 Bantam-New for 2009 a 125” Bantam Altered will feature a Duramax power plant and will be used as a test bed for preparing the team for their 2010 debut in the 8.90 index classes. Look for this ride to hit events starting mid 2009.

THE MISSION
In 2009 CMR will hit the road running with Orange Crush and soon after the season starts, the altered should be ready for the track and testing. The tentative schedule is posted on dieselsportpromo.com. The 2009 goal is to collect product, contingency and marketing partners to gear ourselves for the 2010 season, along with becoming the first Pro Street truck in the 8’s. The team heads into the new season with the momentum of `08’s perfect season and championship, confident that Orange Crush will continue to win races and amaze fans.

In 2010 Team CMR will become the first diesel-powered Super Comp team to run NHRA Division 3 events. Late in 2009 the construction of two Duramax-powered rear engine dragsters will commence. After a year of testing the altered, we will have the knowledge and experience to put together solid competition dragsters for the Super Comp class. Our schedule is going to be packed as we look to compete in all six NHRA Lucas Oil Drag Racing events, 2-3 NHRA national events, a few IHRA Quick Rod races, the top diesel only events, and exhibitions throughout the United States. Eventually, we will compete for the NHRA National Championship Super Comp title.
The team will also continue to race “Orange Crush” at all the diesel-only events and possibly enter the Super Gas class with the truck.
