The event was born as Thunder in Muncie in June of 2000 at Dave’s Diesel, in Muncie, and moved to the Gaston Lions Club Fairgrounds and the Muncie Dragway in 2001. Having grown too large for the local venues, we moved it to O’Reilly Raceway Park in 2005. Due to the economy, and with DHRA out of business; the 2009 Indiana Diesel Nationals event is re-locating to its original place: Muncie, Indiana. The former event known as the FASS Diesel Nationals, and Indiana Diesel Nationals that took place at O’Reilly Raceway Park (ORP) in Indianapolis, Indiana, will be held June 6, and 7 at Gaston Lion's Club Park and Muncie Dragway, respectively.
The event is organized and operated by DieselSport Promotions, LLC
