The DHRA Utah Diesel Nationals take place at Rocky Mountain Raceway (RMR) in West Valley City, Utah, on August 16, 2008.
This event is organized and operated by DieselSport Promotions and Diesel Hot Rod Association, Inc.
The event began in 2007 when DHRA took their series out “west”. The first event was held at the Las Vegas Motor Speedway. Shortly after the event, a review of the tech cards revealed the location of the majority of the participants came from Utah. That fact, combined with the amount of entertainment competition in the Las Vegas forced officials from DHRA to take a closer look at the placement of the western national event. Our journey didn’t take long to land at Rocky Mountain Raceway because of the relationship Co-founder Eric McBride already had with Drag Strip Manager Ron Craft. They met when Eric was asked to assist Edge Products to put on an employee appreciation event that sparked into “Weekend on the Edge”. This event took place at Rocky Mountain Raceway.
